Commissioner Fiona Ryan welcomed the Special Advocate for Survivors of Institutional Abuse, Patricia Carey, and her team to the Office of the Commissioner this week.
The role of Special Advocate is a new one in the Republic of Ireland and Patricia Carey was appointed in March 2024.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity for both teams to exchange perspectives, share knowledge and discuss areas of mutual interest as well as opportunities for collaboration in the future.
The Office of the Commissioner looks forward to engaging with the Special Advocate as both Offices move forward with their important work in representing the interests of victims and survivors.
